3 1/2 months

Well, I've been slacking. It's been over two weeks since I've updated, and in baby world, 2 weeks is a lot!! Now for the excuses: I've been busy, VERY tired, and was without Internet for a little over a week.

Rudy finally got his truck back so we have two cars again, which anyone who talked to me all summer, knows this is something I've been waiting to happen for a long time! Since we have two cars, and I'm usually stir-crazy and broke, I've decided to get a job. After weeks of sending my resume online to anyone I saw looking for someone, all I'd really accomplished was getting tons of scam emails in return, one interview for a sales job (I'd really prefer to avoid sales), and wasting a TON of time. So, last week I dropped Noah off at my moms house and headed to staffing agencies to drop off my resume and see what I could do to get some assistance finding a job. One place was basically no help at all and said they'd call me at some point (which they haven't). The other place though made an appointment with me on Tuesday, so I went in, filled out some paperwork, and took some skills test on a computer over basic math, grammar, spelling, MS Word and Excel and typing. I did pretty well (even on math!) and they said they'd get me a job within about two weeks.

Knowing I was getting a job soon, I knew that meant I needed to start looking at childcare. I'd called a few places a few weeks ago ad looked up any opinions/rants online to narrow down the million day cares down to 3. The first one I went to had a big sign outside that said "New management!" which made me pretty uncomfortable because to me, that means something must have been wrong before, and without all new employees, it could happen again. I also don't like the idea of sending my child someplace where they're still new to the whole idea themselves! I don't want anyone figuring it all out with Noah as their test subject! It also cost almost $50 more a week than others I was looking at. The second one I visited is the one he will be going to. I liked all the teachers I met and that there were two infant rooms with less babies than the state allows. Everything was clean, and well maintained and the teachers had all been on staff for 10+ years, which gives me a good feeling about the kind of place it is. There was nothing wrong with the third place really, I just didn't get a good vibe from it.

Noah has gotten very used to the concept of babbling and does it all the time and now slips in squeals when he really wants to get something across, is excited or just really wants someone's attention. He also enjoys playing and looking at his hands very much. He seems fascinated with them and ours now too, I think he's comparing them. The BIG news is that Noah has doubled his birth weight and is now 14lbs!

Noah had his first big trip on the 16th when we traveled to McKenzie for my Grandaddy Creasy's (Noah's great grandaddy) 80th birthday. It started as a very eventful ride since we had to take a detour before we even got out of Louisville because a wreck caused 65S to be closed completely. We got off at the Snyder and took 31W to get back to 65 and ran over a deer carcass. The deer apparently messed up the radiator, so we had to get my moms car towed back to their house and start our trip all over in my smaller car 3 hours later than we planned on leaving. Once we got back on the road, the trip went pretty well. We made excellent timing and showed up to the party only 30 minutes late. Everyone loved seeing Noah and he got to meet his 2nd cousin Aurora who's 8 months old.

Brad and Roxy will be watching Noah Saturday night and keeping him overnight. This is sort of a big deal for me, but I know Noah will be in good hands. We're going to a birthday party and they thought it'd be better to leave him overnight then come pick him up late, so I will just pick him up Sunday morning before church. Will definitely update on how that goes, I don't really think Noah will mind at all, but I'll miss him!
